The Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra launches its 53rd Season in the easily accessible Calvary Baptist
Church in the Lansdale area, neighboring North Penn High School. As one of the region’s only professional orchestras in
southeastern Pennsylvania, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra presents season tickets for the
Masterworks Concert Series on Saturday evenings and the new Chamber Music Concert Series on Sunday afternoons.
The Masterworks Concert Series features world renowned soloists and great symphonic music from Mozart and
Beethoven to Dvořák, Stravinsky to the music of Harry Potter, Gershwin to new works by a living composer.

Masterworks Concert Series
The 2024-2025 Season opens September 28th with an All-Gershwin celebration commemorating the 100th
anniversary of Gershwin’s legendary Rhapsody in Blue featuring acclaimed American Pianist Carl Cranmer. The
Masterworks Concert Series continues with the Mozart By Candlelight in November as the Southeastern Pennsylvania
Symphony Orchestra performs Mozart’s popular Symphony No. 40, the Overture to his opera La Clemenza di Tito, and
Beethoven’s charming First Symphony – all set entirely to candlelight. The Mozart By Candlelight was a sell out last
Season, and season ticket holders get first priority on these tickets.

In February, Richard Wagner’s jubilant Prelude to Act III of Lohengrin with brass blazing and strings captures the
medieval tale of chivalry and betrayal. Then SPSO presents one of the first performances of New Zealand Composer
John Psathas’ All Seeing Sky, an evocative work for two percussionist soloists and orchestra, featuring world acclaimed
percussionists Lynn Vartan and Weichen Lin. Dvořák’s emotionally profound Seventh Symphony concludes the concert
as a personal reflection on grief and joy.

The Masterworks Concert Series culminates in May where audiences are transported to a world of enchantment,
imagination, and wonder with the timeless of allure of Stravinsky’s Firebird and a musical journey from the eight films of
Harry Potter featuring the well known regional symphonic chorus the Voices of Gwynedd along with the children’s choir
of Calvary Baptist Church.

Chamber Music Concert Series
The new Chamber Music Concert Series allows audiences to experience the musicians of the Southeastern
Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra in an intimate venue within the same performance venue of Calvary Baptist Church.
From trios to wind quintet, and brass quintet to an all-cello program, these concerts add to the concert experience for the
community. The Chamber Music Concert Series launches October 13 with music of Mozart and Beethoven and continues
throughout the season on Sunday afternoons. Other Chamber Music Concerts include a program of all American
composers continues with an SPSO wind quintet, a Brass Bash with SPSO brass musicians, and a program of tangoes and
more with SPSO cellists.
